Low-income subsidy

You may qualify for Extra Help from Medicare to pay for your prescription drugs through the low-income subsidy program. If you are not getting Extra Help and would like to see if you qualify, you can call:

The Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213. TTY users, call 1-800-325-0778.
Your state Medicaid office
1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). TTY users, call 1-877-486-2048.

If you received Extra Help in 2021, you may receive a letter from Medicare or the Social Security Administration about your eligibility for Extra Help in 2022. Please read this information carefully. Understanding best available evidence (BAE)

“Best available evidence” is information used to support eligibility for low-income subsidy, also known as Extra Help. If you are not currently receiving Extra Help, but think you may be eligible, please call us at 844-827-2355 (TTY users, dial 711) for help.
